Job Overview

Our esteemed legal practice is in search of a meticulous, organized, and knowledgeable Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting legal documents, including briefs and affidavits, conducting thorough legal research to support trial preparations, and managing case files and essential materials.

To effectively respond to discovery requests, we require an individual with a solid background in ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records. Additionally, experience in settlement negotiations and mediation is essential to help avoid litigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with service providers or insurers to discuss potential lien, bill, and medical expense settlements.
  • Prepare factual responses to discovery requests by efficiently ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trial by researching legal precedents, organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, submitting motions, and assisting in client meetings.
  • Assist in the creation of legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notifications, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits.
  • Maintain and organize our case filing systems to ensure all materials are properly categorized and easily accessible, along with performing other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney, preferably within a personal injury law firm.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for writing and grammar.
  • Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) is highly desirable.
