Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve orders to guest tables according to company specifications, courteously and efficiently.
  • Collect payments and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all service areas and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Work in either the restaurant or private dining area, providing exceptional customer service to guests.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with local attractions/activities/book events to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, wines, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
  • Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and beers offered.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink.
  • Maintain knowledge of all drink recipes (using proper measuring tools) and beverage service standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code.
  • Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies; keep bank secure at all times.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • 1 year(s) experience as a Bartender.
  • Food handling certificate.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Provide legible communication.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to:
    • perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
    • perform job functions under variable working conditions (example: heat or cold), prioritize and organize tasks, be a clear thinker
    • remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
    • follow directions and recipes thoroughly
    • understand guests' service needs

  • Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
  • Ability to input and access information in the Point-of-Sale system.
  • Previous guest relations training.
  • Ability to suggestively sell.
  • Exert physical effort in transporting up to 50 pounds.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Remain in stationary position for extended periods of time throughout work shift.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
