Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property and Evidence Clerk to join our team at the City of Roanoke. As a Property and Evidence Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the secure storage, documentation, and retrieval of evidence and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process evidence and property in accordance with strict chain-of-custody procedures
  • Document and store evidence and property in a secure and organized manner
  • Retrieve and return evidence and property as required
  • Assist with the disposal of evidence and property at the conclusion of each case
  • Testify in court as required
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in criminal justice science or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees
  • Fluency in Spanish is beneficial
  • Possession of a valid driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
Work Environment
