Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick up soiled linens at designated areas and transport them to the laundry facility.
  • Sort linens according to fabric type, color, and degree of soil to ensure efficient washing and processing.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers to clean and sanitize linens, ensuring proper water levels and temperatures.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the department manager.
  • Load dryers with damp wash and adjust controls to ensure proper drying.
  • Unload linens from dryers and sort them for folding and distribution.
  • Fold and stack linens in a prescribed manner, separating torn linens for mending.
  • Deliver folded linens to designated areas and place them on storage shelves.
  • Assemble linen requirements for departments according to established daily supply standards.
  • Inspect linens for tears, holes, and general condition, determining if they should be mended or discarded.
  • Sew, mend, and hem linens as needed, using appropriate means available.
  • Assist in sanitizing the work area by cleaning floors and equipment.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following established guidelines.
  • Report any damaged or unsafe equipment to the department manager.

Requirements:

  • General computer knowledge to complete required online training and access email.
  • General knowledge of housekeeping duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
