Overview: This pivotal position will influence our utility-scale initiatives through an interconnection perspective and oversee the interconnection workflow for our expanding portfolio. The Interconnection Project Manager will also play a vital role in facilitating the entry into new markets, site identification, and preliminary development phases. This role presents a unique chance to contribute to the establishment of a novel floating market segment for solar energy, fostering mutually beneficial outcomes for the communities that host our projects while experiencing substantial professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and refine our utility-scale strategy and market expansion by leveraging expertise in interconnection processes and requirements.
- Provide direct support for project-level site identification and early-stage development in new target markets by assessing project locations for interconnection viability and strategy.
- Lead external interconnection assessments to guide strategic decisions and develop internal project perspectives.
- Oversee the interconnection workflow for a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale floating solar initiatives, from initial application through to project completion.
- Engage and negotiate with utility companies, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
- Collaborate with consultants, project developers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure interconnection requirements are seamlessly integrated into project planning.
- Stay informed on evolving interconnection policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), with a focus on interconnection, transmission, and project development.
- Comprehensive understanding of interconnection standards, codes, and regulations.
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
- Solid grasp of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar energy.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, project management applications).
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
