We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer - Distributed Energy Expert to join our team at Scale Microgrids. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and financing innovative distributed clean energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our Business Development teams to evaluate and develop technical solutions for our customers.
  • Work with our execution and commercial teams to ensure the integration of microgrids is technically correct, practical, and cost-effective.
  • Investigate interconnection requirements, including modifications to existing design concepts applicable to each site.
  • Develop innovative designs and costing with switchgear manufacturers like Schneider Electric.
  • Provide input to solar, battery, and generator designs to optimize performance, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Manage engineering consultants in preparing detailed engineering and construction drawings and specifications.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in the design and construction of power/generation/renewable energy projects.
  • Thorough technical understanding of distributed energy technologies, including solar, battery, and reciprocating engines.
  • Deep understanding of rotating power with reciprocating engines in the 200 to 2000kw size range per engine.
  • Solid understanding of the utility side of the interconnection.
  • Knowledge of systems controls for all DERs and how they can be utilized to accomplish specific operating goals.
  • Experience in submitting interconnection applications and reviewing Utility studies.
  • Excellent communication skills and AutoCAD experience.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on the power side and PE in power or progressing towards that license.
