Job Description:

V2X is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN, supporting the development and integration of advanced systems, including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems.

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the development life cycle, from concept development to system implementation, integration, verification, and validation.

Key responsibilities include leading the development, integration, and test of military avionics systems or similarly complex systems, as well as experience leading requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.

The successful candidate will also have experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks.

Additionally, the candidate will provide leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams and have strong communication skills to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders.

In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes is essential, as well as experience mentoring engineers of all grade levels.

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Required Skills:
  • Experience leading the development, integration, and test of military avionics systems or similarly complex systems.
  • Experience leading requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
  • Experience developing technical baselines (requirements/architecture); leading development teams; and developing and reviewing Engineering Change Requests.
  • Experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks.
  • Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
  • Experience mentoring engineers of all grade levels.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience managing suppliers and overseeing the development of subsystems and components.
  • Knowledge and experience working with digital data standards such as: MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, Universal Armament Interface (UAI), Radio Frequency (RF) communication, and ENET protocols.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools, and languages.
  • Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF.
  • Experience working the front end of the business, creating/reviewing RFPs, SOWs, BOEs, technical volumes, proposals, cost, and schedule estimates.
  • Project management experience including cost, schedule, supplier management, risk, and opportunity assessment.
  • Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance.
Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline plus at least eight years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering.
