Athletic Trainer and Injury Prevention Specialist

**Job Summary**
Bryan Health is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer-Certified to provide athletic training services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician. The successful candidate will monitor and provide game/contest coverage for athletes at assigned schools, design and implement preventative injury programs, and identify, evaluate and provide immediate care/referral for athletic injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide athlete consultation, practice coverage and injury tracking documentation for athletes at assigned schools.
- Implement pre-season, in-season and post-season strength and conditioning programs.
- Provide game/contest coverage for assigned schools as scheduled and notify coaches and athletic director of athletes who are not medically eligible to compete.
- Review pre-game and practice taping and preparation with athletes to provide information regarding injury risks and make recommendations for athlete safety and hydration based on environmental conditions.
- Act as liaison between family physicians, medical specialists, school representatives, athletes, their parents, coaches and athletic directors.
- Provide immediate and emergency care when needed following emergency action protocols and treatment.
- Develop treatment programs in accordance with findings of evaluations and goals established by the injury assessment or treating physician.
- Refer athletes for appropriate diagnostic and follow-up procedures and subsequent injury tracking, maintain accurate records/documentation of injuries, treatments and provide insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physician.
- Maintain a budget for athletic training supplies and recommend new equipment and supplies to ensure optimum quality of athlete's care.
- Familiarize yourself with established policies and procedures specific to athletic training room and the athletic healthcare program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field required.
- National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) certification required.
- Prior athletic training/conditioning experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
Salary:** $62,000 - $85,000 per year
