Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the nursing unit, ensuring efficient and effective patient care.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and changes within the unit, utilizing electronic patient tracking systems and medical records.
  • Perform a variety of office, secretarial, and related duties to support the unit.
  • Manage intake and outbound documents, handle communications, and respond to patient requests.
  • Provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including activities of daily living, personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and comfort.
  • Coordinate daily patient care activities, assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, and perform various duties as delegated by nursing staff.
  • Monitor patient heart rates and rhythms, recognize irregular patterns, and report to appropriate staff.
  • Participate in inventory control, ordering, stocking, and replenishing unit supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Communicate patient information, concerns, or issues to the interdisciplinary team, facilitate unit communication, and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greet and assist visitors, patients, and employees, and ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and documentation, and adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification preferred but not required.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software programs required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and rhythm interpretation preferred.
