Service Technician Assistant

Ring's End, Inc. is a Connecticut-based lumber and building materials retailer seeking a determined full-time Assistant Service Technician. This position earns a competitive pay of $**45,000 - 60,000 per year**, including traditional and Roth 401K, 3% 401K safe harbor company contribution along with profit sharing, various medical insurance plans, FSA & DCA, employee discounts on our products and materials, life/accidental death & dismemberment insurance, long & short-term disability, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), employee assistance program, and a legal counseling program.

A Day in the Life of an Assistant Service Technician
The day begins with you helping the tech identify and load the service van with the parts needed for all the jobs scheduled by the service coordinator for that day. Upon arrival at the job site, you will be expected to follow the direction of the tech and anticipate the tools needed to complete the job safely and efficiently and to clean up the site upon completion.
- You will assist in organizing parts in storage areas and service vans and keep the entire shop area neat and clean.
- You will communicate with vendors to order parts.
- You will help customers understand the work to be performed and contact customers with job status.
- You will clean job sites before, during, and after scheduled work.
Job Requirements:
The incumbent must be flexible and adaptable to changes that rapidly occur. Being able to follow directions is critical to helping in the repair of various millwork. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with internal/external customers as well as vendors and vendor representatives. A familiarity with hand tools and how to use them is required in understanding how to repair doors and windows.
Duties Include:
- Loading and unloading service vans.
- Communicating with coworkers.
- Updating jobs in the Vinyl system.
- Continuously self-educating and taking classes to become a Service Technician.
