We are actively seeking a remote Lead Engineer specializing in Continuous Improvement within our Supply Chain Solutions sector. This role is pivotal in enhancing our operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Compensation Structure: Exempt / Salary paid bi-monthly
  • Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 based on qualifications

Role Summary

This position is integral to fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement at Ryder. The Lead Engineer will employ data-driven methodologies to enhance operational performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth metrics. This influential role will collaborate with personnel at all organizational levels, leveraging engineering principles and analytical tools to identify and rectify operational inefficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data collection and statistical analysis to map and document processes, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
  • Manage high-impact Continuous Improvement projects that yield measurable business results.
  • Support operational startups, expansions, and automation initiatives, collaborating with account management and customers.
  • Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events, coaching team members on Lean methodologies.
  • Regularly report on progress against site objectives and make strategic recommendations.

Additional Duties:

  • Design and maintain the Quality Management System in alignment with industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support quality assurance functions.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with at least seven years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with five years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and database programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering and data analysis functions.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management operations and Lean methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is required; additional certifications preferred.
