Job Overview

BAE Systems is in search of a Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Production Specialist to enhance the operations at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Operations Center. The GEOINT Production Specialist is responsible for the meticulous review and formatting of textual and graphical content to ensure compliance with the Agency and Intelligence Community's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit, format, and assess GEOINT components including report narratives, visuals, and supplementary materials in accordance with agency publication standards.
  • Utilize copy editing expertise to guarantee high-quality text and effectively convey concepts through visual means.
  • Engage collaboratively with analytic authors, GEOINT Operations Officers (GOOs), and Intelligence Directors (IDs) to facilitate GEOINT production and distribution.
  • Offer insights on the design, presentation, and precision of both graphics and text.
  • Address production challenges, share knowledge, and assist in editing presentation materials and briefings.
  • Employ Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software with minimal oversight.
  • Participate in training sessions, forums, and conferences to remain informed about industry standards and practices.

Work Environment:

This role necessitates working in a rotating shift pattern within a fast-paced operational setting.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in copy editing, complemented by a background in graphic design.
  • Proficient in collaborating with analysts to deliver high-quality, time-sensitive GEOINT to external clients.
  • Capability to conduct pre-publication quality assessments and identify areas for improvement in product quality.
  • Expertise in reviewing and formatting geospatial intelligence documents according to agency protocols.
  • Provide constructive feedback to analysts regarding layout, grammar, design, and consistency.
  • Evaluate visual components such as maps, charts, and illustrations for adherence to standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and other pertinent tools.
  • Mastery of NGA production software and tools (ICPS, SharePoint).
  • Verify classifications, identify sourcing discrepancies, and offer classification guidance.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, clear communication, and effective teamwork.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Support agency missions, including crisis response, special projects, and ad hoc assignments.
  • Engage in production support meetings and provide relevant updates.
  • Develop and implement training programs for GEOINT Conveyance Specialist colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Archive materials in accordance with established protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field pertinent to copy editing or graphic design.
  • Familiarity with the Intelligence Community (IC).

Compensation Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $133,870

Please note that this range is based on market pay structures, and individual salaries are influenced by various factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
