Job Title: Test Equipment Design Engineer

Raytheon is seeking a skilled Test Equipment Design Engineer to join our Sensor Test Solutions (STS) department within Test Equipment Engineering (TEE). As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and integrate advanced test platforms and architectures for various programs within Raytheon.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop test equipment, including simulation/stimulation and data acquisition test capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deploy complex factory test systems.
  • Lead development of test hardware, software, and/or firmware through its development cycle.
  • Work with Hardware Design and Operations teams to identify capability and capacity needs for manufacturing test.
  • Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations through the development lifecycle.
  • Lead medium-to-large sized teams to meet project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Provide technical leadership to employees in support of their specific work assignments.
  • Engage in personal technical growth and encourage technical growth in peers and junior engineers.
  • Prepare and clearly present your team's work product to Functional and Program Leadership.
  • Understand and report financial & earned value status for monthly reporting cycle.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate Risks and Opportunities.
  • Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Contribute to cost, schedule, and technical solutions for bid and proposal development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in an engineering design and development environment with 4+ years direct experience with Test Equipment design and development tasks.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued (Secret) security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with National Instruments' TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
  • Digital, and/or Analog, and/or RF, and/or power supply test hardware design experience.
  • Use of Commercial Test and Measurement Equipment.
  • VXI/VME/MXI/PXI/CompactPCI Application Development.
  • CMMI and 6 Sigma Experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with VHDL a plus.
  • Software applications / programming skills a plus.
