Job Title: Test Equipment Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Equipment Design Engineer to join our Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department within Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) at Raytheon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures for various programs within Raytheon.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities.
  • Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Understand and meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities, with moderate support from senior engineers.
  • Function as an individual contributor, working autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Engage in personal technical growth.
  • Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings.
  • Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with design engineering teams.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree.
  • Experience in engineering design and development, preferably related to Test equipment development efforts.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with National Instruments' TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
  • Experience with Digital, Analog, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design.
  • Experience with VXI / VME / MXI / PXI / CompactPCI application development.
  • Experience with commercial test and measurement equipment.
  • VHDL and embedded system design knowledge.
