Regional Memory Care Coordinator - Northern California

Position Overview:
The Regional Memory Care Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Traditions Directors and Executive Directors of various communities to uphold standards, policies, and procedures related to Memory Care. This role is pivotal in supporting the Memory Care and Health Services programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to Oakmont standards. The Coordinator will oversee all aspects of resident care, activity programming, and staffing for Memory Care services, which encompass programs for early memory loss as well as middle to late-stage memory loss.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Northern California is essential. Travel assignments may vary in duration and frequency, necessitating flexibility and availability. Ideal candidates should be residents of California.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $85,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new Directors, providing support until they are fully acclimated to their roles.
  • Facilitate re-training and coaching of Traditions Directors as directed by the Regional Memory Care Director in collaboration with the Executive Director and other team members.
  • Conduct assigned audits of the Traditions Program and ensure timely follow-up, adhering to all established guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all Oakmont Traditions policies and procedures across assigned communities.
  • Engage in the development of policies and procedures as part of a collaborative team under the guidance of the Regional Memory Care Director.
  • Assist in the opening of new communities as required, including team hiring, training, program setup, and participation in opening events.
  • Contribute to the formulation of Oakmont Programming standards and policies, along with any related projects.
Qualifications and Educational Background:
  • Minimum age of eighteen (18) years.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Traditions Director or in a comparable role.
  • Prior experience must include a minimum of 2 years working with individuals with dementia and 1 year in a leadership capacity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in gerontology, psychology, social work, or a related field, or 4 years of experience in social services, residential care, or psychiatric settings.
  • Public speaking skills are essential.
  • Must meet California Department of Developmental Services minimum qualifications for a dementia trainer.
  • Possession or willingness to obtain RCFE Administrator Certification.
  • Successful completion of a DOJ Criminal Background Check.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation are required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Able to adapt positively to change, criticism, and stressful situations.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, programming costs, labor, scheduling, and HR practices.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Strong organizational skills for event execution.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders involved in assignments.
  • Familiarity with Oakmont Programs Standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic demeanor while managing diverse personalities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
