Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Compliance Attorney to join our legal department at Roblox. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our compliance program under various regulatory laws, including the UK Online Safety Act, the Digital Services Act, GDPR, CCPA, and other similar laws in the US and abroad.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive user safety compliance strategies and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Create and implement relevant policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory laws.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans to address these issues.
- Track remediation efforts and perform compliance program testing to assess adherence to our compliance management system.
- Support cross-functional efforts to integrate a compliance management platform and stay informed of emerging regulatory changes, trends, and best practices.
- Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders, and serve as the primary point of contact for all user safety compliance matters.
- Collaborate with product, policy, privacy, trust and safety, advertising, economy, and legal teams to embed a strategic approach to risk and compliance.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, certifications, and documentation as required by applicable laws and standards.
Requirements
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 15+ years of practicing legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably in a compliance monitoring team or regulated environment.
- Experience with one of the following legal areas: product or regulatory counseling, privacy, or data protection.
- Proven track record of successfully building and maintaining complex risk and control environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to business operations.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability and willingness to take a lead on novel and complex regulatory requirements.
- Outstanding communication skills that allow you to interact with a wide variety of individuals.
- Comfortable advocating a strong point of view to executives and leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
