Join Our Team as a Senior Compliance Attorney

At Roblox, we're building a platform that empowers our community to bring any experience to life. As a senior compliance attorney, you'll play a critical role in developing and implementing our compliance program under various regulations, including the UK Online Safety Act, the Digital Services Act, and GDPR in the EU, CCPA, and other similar laws in the US and abroad.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive user safety compliance strategies and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Create and implement relevant policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans for resolution.
  • Track remediation efforts and perform compliance program testing to assess adherence to the compliance management system.
  • Support cross-functional efforts to integrate a compliance management platform and stay informed of emerging regulatory changes, trends, and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a point of contact and subject matter authority to external auditors and regulators.
  • Collaborate with product, policy, privacy, trust and safety, advertising, economy, and legal teams to embed a strategic approach to risk and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, certifications, and documentation as required by applicable laws and standards.
Requirements:
  • J.D. degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 15+ years of practicing legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably in a compliance monitoring team or regulated environment.
  • Experience with regulatory laws and operational compliance practices, including privacy, moderation efforts, risk assessments, safety efforts, cybersecurity, financial reporting requirements, and payments.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements, and apply them to business operations.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to take a lead on novel and complex regulatory requirements.
  • Outstanding communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and executives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
