Located in San Diego, California, Wildcat Discovery Technologies is a leading materials research and development firm that is shifting its focus towards the supply of cathode materials. Our mission is to innovate and develop advanced materials specifically for lithium-ion batteries.

We pursue three strategic avenues:

  1. Collaborating on projects aimed at enhancing battery performance through material optimization.
  2. Creating proprietary battery materials for next-generation electrodes and electrolytes.
  3. Preparing for the launch of a series of cathode active materials.

Wildcat partners with industry leaders globally to develop cutting-edge materials for rechargeable and primary battery technologies, utilizing our state-of-the-art high throughput platform (HTP) combinational chemistry. Our team, composed of top-tier scientists and engineers, synthesizes and tests thousands of battery materials at a pace ten times faster than traditional research methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze engineering designs to identify potential enhancements in value or cost reductions through value engineering techniques.
  • Oversee construction and manage all contractors to ensure completion within budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Define the overall contracting strategy and lead negotiations.
  • Assemble a cross-functional leadership team to manage various areas, including administration, environmental concerns, engineering, QA/QC, and program controls.
  • Establish clear priorities for safety and risk management.
  • Review engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
  • Coordinate and participate in all major decision-making processes.
  • Manage daily priorities and strategic direction related to the area.
  • Define and orchestrate the overall project plan and schedule.
  • Report progress to senior management and serve as the primary interface.
  • Facilitate technical expert reviews as necessary.
  • Conduct working group meetings with functional teams and direct reports.
  • Lead or participate in specific forums across functions to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Oversee performance management and adherence to standards across the project delivery organization.
  • Provide consistent coaching, training, guidance, and overall direction to project teams.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong general management skills, capable of leading large teams and interacting with top management.
  • Extensive experience managing capital expenditure projects exceeding $100 million.
  • Fundamental knowledge of key areas including engineering, procurement, and construction.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Background in Project Management or Project Services within an industrial setting.
  • Preference for candidates located in Central or East Coast time zones.
