Job Summary:

As a Chief Engineer with Compass Group, North America, you will oversee the safety of all operating equipment within the facility, ensuring a secure and efficient work environment. Your responsibilities will include developing and training staff in plant and emergency procedures, handling the procurement of repair parts, and maintaining relationships with vendors. Additionally, you will develop and maintain a plant-wide preventative maintenance schedule, manage the departmental budget, and ensure compliance with wastewater and emissions standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the safety of all operating equipment within the facility
  • Develop and train all staff in plant and emergency procedures
  • Handle the procurement of all repair parts for routine preventative, and emergency repairs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Develop a plant-wide Preventative maintenance schedule for all building, process equipment, and all plant utilities
  • Maintain the departmental budget with focus on parts, supplies and labor management
  • Assure compliance with all wastewater and emissions standards
  • Oversee outside contractors in the repairs and upkeep of plant equipment
  • Available for off-site, plants startups and special projects

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or military experience is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  • Must be capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical, and plumbing blue prints
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Good working knowledge all aspects of plant maintenance to include but not limited to; Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, Compressed Air, Mechanical Equipment
