Job Title: Early Learning Instructional Specialist

Join Gwinnett County Public Schools as an Early Learning Instructional Specialist and play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of young children. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing outreach and support to parents of children aged birth to five, promoting school readiness skills through a community-based model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement outreach programs to engage and inform the community, parents, and professionals about early learning and school readiness.
  • Plan, provide, and model developmentally appropriate instruction to children aged birth to five and their parents/caregivers.
  • Assess student learning and provide specific feedback to students and parents.
  • Organize learning environments to maximize student time on task.
  • Maintain behavior that is conducive to learning.
  • Participate in professional growth and professional learning activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school district and community for early learning and school readiness.
Requirements:
  • Valid Georgia teaching certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • Experience working with parents and children, with experience in outreach activities and services preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
