Job SummaryThe Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs complex laboratory tests and procedures, utilizing equipment, instruments, and computer systems to evaluate and report patient results with independent judgment. This role contributes to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies, assists in developing new procedures and instrumentation, and trains new employees and students.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures
- Evaluate and report patient results using independent judgment
- Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
- Assist in developing new procedures and instrumentation
- Train new employees and students
2 years of clinical experience in moderate and high complexity testing, or equivalent education requirement. Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field with required licensure/certification.
CertificationsAmerican Society for Clinical Pathology or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel certification required, or equivalent education requirement.
Work Schedule10p-6a (1 shift/week), as needed for weekend and call requirements.
