Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This role utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to evaluate and report patient results using considerable independent judgment within established testing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
  • May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions, such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems.
  • Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • 2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory - Moderate and High Complexity Testing Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement
  • Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science Or Medical Technology Required - Or Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Or Bachelor's Degree Related Field Required - With Required Licensure/Certification - And With Equivalent Experience
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology Or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement

Work Schedule

10p-6a (1 shift/week)

Weekend and Call Requirements
