Job Summary

Koniag Government Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor to provide strategic support to our government customers in Washington, DC. As a Senior Advisor, you will work closely with senior members of the U.S. government and international organizations to accomplish their objectives related to defense and security sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level advice and analysis to senior government officials and international partners on defense and security matters.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to support U.S. government objectives in the region.
  • Collaborate with U.S. Embassy country teams to ensure alignment with U.S. government policy guidance.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for cost savings and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve sustainable improvement in the region.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of prior professional experience working in the defense and security sectors.
  • Master's degree and at least 6 years of prior professional experience working in the defense and security sectors.
  • Must have reached, at a minimum, the rank of 0-5 in the military or equivalent (i.e., FS-02/GS-14) in a civilian capacity.
  • Experience working with senior foreign military officials and/or senior foreign government officials.
  • Experience living and working overseas.
  • Fluent English language speaking and writing ability.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Data collection and analysis.
  • Identify areas that are present for achieving cost savings and needs analysis.
  • Prioritize opportunities for implementation.
  • Assistance in drafting de-scoping and/or contract mods.
  • Assistance with drafting requirements and deliverables (Statements of Work, SOP's, business processes for allocation of equipment, etc.).
  • Submit a monthly progress report to the Program Office, Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and U.S. Embassy in the format provided by the Program Office, which will include a Performance Monitoring Framework and Work Plan.
  • Change management and communications.
  • Highly organized/demonstrated administrative skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Willingness to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience utilizing cost-analysis techniques and ways to evaluate programs.
  • Experience utilizing quantitative and/or qualitative analysis and evaluation of programs; U.S. government, or international organization experience preferred.
  • Required Security Clearance: Top Secret (TS).
Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
