Job Overview

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  1. Graduate from an accredited medical institution.
  2. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Missouri.
  3. Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine.

Experience:

  1. Completion of a Family Medicine residency program.
  2. Preferred experience in an urban healthcare environment.

Skills and Abilities: The following skills are essential for this role:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Proficient in recognizing and treating patient conditions.
  3. Leadership skills to manage specific projects or services.

Transportation Requirement: A valid driver's license and an insured vehicle as mandated by Missouri state law.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Maintain necessary medical licenses, including Missouri State physician license, Missouri BNDD, Federal DEA, and Board Eligibility certificate. X-waiver preferred.


FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions:

  1. Conduct Family Practice clinic sessions, including Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, and OBGYN as agreed.
  2. Examine patients, diagnose conditions, and treat illnesses within the outpatient primary care framework. Refer patients to other healthcare facilities for further testing or treatment as necessary. Provide telephone consultations and share on-call responsibilities.
  3. Deliver evidence-based patient care with a trauma-informed approach.
  4. Prescribe medications as appropriate.
  5. Consult with specialized physicians and collaborate with mid-level clinicians regarding patient care as needed.
  6. Assist in preparing claims for third-party insurance billing.
  7. Provide medical supervision to medical staff, residents, and students as required.
  8. Contribute ideas for enhancing health center operations.
  9. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care for all patients.
  10. Engage in record reviews and quality assurance initiatives.
  11. Participate in staff and departmental meetings, as well as assigned committees.
  12. Adhere to clinical best practices established by the health center.
  13. Participate in community health education and preventive initiatives.
  14. Maintain productivity and quality standards set by federal guidelines and the Center's Quality Assessment Committee.
  15. Consider involvement in the Affinia Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program, including potential inpatient care and teaching opportunities.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions: Attend continuing medical education (CME) sessions as required.


Supervises: Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants [up to six], Students/Residents/Volunteers.
