Position Summary:
Schnabel Engineering is in search of a motivated and detail-oriented individual for the role of Entry-Level Geotechnical/GeoStructural Engineer. This position will play a crucial role in supporting our regional and national practices. The successful candidate will assist in both geotechnical and geostructural projects, contributing to a variety of consulting services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct geotechnical field investigations, including soil sampling and drilling activities.
  • Perform soil and rock analyses to assess suitability for construction, including laboratory testing and data interpretation.
  • Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports and formulate recommendations.
  • Prepare calculations to support geotechnical recommendations and designs.
  • Create drawings and sketches using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, providing design support during construction phases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Monitor geotechnical/geostructural construction activities and prepare daily observation reports to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Support the preparation of reports and proposals.
  • Willingness to travel and work in the field as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude that fosters problem-solving, teamwork, and a growth mindset.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to self-improvement.
  • Effective time management skills to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Physical capability to perform fieldwork, including lifting up to 60 pounds and navigating construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Previous internship or professional experience in geotechnical engineering or related fields.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a background check, including criminal history and motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
