POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Surgical Scheduling Coordinator plays a crucial role in the efficient management of the Operating Room schedule. Collaborating closely with surgical teams, this position is responsible for creating, modifying, and overseeing the daily surgical timetable to align with the diverse needs of various surgical specialties. As the primary liaison for surgical clinics, the Coordinator handles all requests related to surgery scheduling, including date adjustments, cancellations, and inquiries regarding the Operating Room schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is mandatory; advanced education or a college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are essential; proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required. Computer literacy is a must.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology is necessary.
  • Data Entry and Keyboarding skills are required.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
  • Effective time management skills are essential.
  • Completion of a designated introductory period is required to gain familiarity with policies related to job responsibilities and patient care.
