Our team applies timeless, environmentally sound design principles to a diverse range of scales, from master planning large projects to designing single-family homes and custom furniture.
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Architect with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience to join our team in San Francisco or New York City. The successful candidate will be a technically proficient architect with strengths in working drawing production, detailing, code knowledge, and staff mentoring. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe CC is required, and extensive technical experience is a high priority.
Job Overview
The Senior Technical Architect plays a critical role in ensuring that the technical content of our designs meets the highest standards of architectural professionalism. This position requires a deep understanding of building codes, coordination with consultants, constructability, and quality assurance. The Senior Technical Architect mentors staff members in understanding the reasoning behind their answers and facilitates their exploration of related standards and concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in reviewing and revising technical documents, including drawings and specifications
- Mentor junior architects and engineers in technical skills and best practices
- Conduct code research and provide expertise on building regulations and compliance
- Develop and maintain detailed construction documents and models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A degree in architecture from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in responsible positions in architecture and/or general construction
- Extensive technical experience in DD, CD, and CA phases
- Familiarity with a wide range of high-end custom residential, commercial retail, hospitality, and restaurant projects, as well as development feasibility services
- Understanding of contract relationships in development projects and professional liability exposure
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- Specific professional skills in project management, interior and exterior custom detailing, code research, and specification writing
- Professional registration and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe CC
