We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join our team at NYU Langone Hematology Oncology Associates - Mineola. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational functions of the private practice, ensuring that office policies and procedures are adhered to and promoting the efficiency and profitability of the practice.
Key Responsibilities- Develops, directs, and supervises practice staff in regards to job duties, responsibilities, and time efficiency.
- Maintains personnel files, including updated job descriptions, and ensures that staff receive appropriate training for tasks.
- Responsible for the time efficiency of staff members, ensuring no abuse of downtime and/or overtime.
- Works with front desk staff to identify and maintain efficiency, monitoring their response to patient follow-up requests through the EMR and/or verbally.
- Responsible for recruiting and hiring as applicable, maintaining finance reports for monthly submission to the Director, Faculty practice, and submitting annual budgets in a timely manner.
- Monitors practice expenses, including medical/surgical supplies and office supplies, and is responsible for the oversight and/or ordering of supplies, including inventory control.
- Responsible for submitting invoices to be paid on a timely basis and for capital request submission, including required paperwork and justifications.
- Maintains updated documents, including licenses and DEAs, with managed care plans and responds to requests related to managed care plans.
- Works collaboratively with outside property managers to perform maintenance with little or no disruption to practice hours and meets with project managers to plan and facilitate enhancement and expansion.
- Monitors safety and compliance issues in accordance with requirements from applicable regulation agencies and OSHA.
- Supports billing and credentialing departments by providing necessary information in a timely manner and maintains a working knowledge of appropriate aspects of insurance plans and billing regulations.
- Provides reports and data as requested in a timely manner and maintains adherence to policies and procedures of the practice.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required, hired after 1/1/2017 (Acquired practices may be grandfathered).
- 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare environment and 1-2 years of demonstrated management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, leadership skills, and strong computer skills.
- Knowledge of Epic is preferred.
