The Role

We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Manager to maintain our Food Safety and Quality Assurance Management Systems, ensuring the production of wholesome and quality food. The ideal candidate will serve as an SQF Practitioner, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures in accordance with SQF code.

Responsibilities
  • Implement corrective actions and preventative measures related to food safety and quality non-conformities
  • Supervise one QA Technician
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Conduct daily verification of documentation and records
  • Implement cleaning, housekeeping activities, and master sanitation schedule
  • Investigate food safety and quality-related incidents
  • Manage Pest Control and Microbiological Programs
  • Conduct internal monthly audits
  • Manage Foreign Material and Product Specification programs
  • Maintain company food safety and quality training for new hires
  • Conduct pro-op inspections and operational inspections
  • Collect finished product weights to ensure compliance
  • Monitor cooler temperatures
  • Verify adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Implement maintenance documents and lead customer audits
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner
  • Lead inspections from the Agriculture Department
  • Responsible for sampling product to the State of Agriculture
  • Approve new ingredients and packaging
  • Support product development and launch
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing environment (dairy preferred), with knowledge of FDA regulations and experience with 3rd-party food safety audits
  • Food Safety Certificates: HACCP, SQF Practitioner, PCQI
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
