Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of complex inspection gauges and tooling requirements throughout various assembly phases.
  • Develop comprehensive master tool planning lists that detail the necessary gauge and tooling specifications.
  • Formulate design strategies for gauges to ensure accurate measurement of parts and assemblies in alignment with operational plans.
  • Create and manage tooling assignment documentation to facilitate the design and construction of gauges.
  • Review and evaluate gauge designs for functionality, compliance with specifications, and integration with operational plans, suggesting modifications as necessary.
  • Generate gauge instruction documentation that outlines usage, identification, and operational guidelines.
  • Identify and specify additional tooling aids and templates required for gauge design through detailed analysis of operational documentation.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Engineering to ensure necessary resources are available for new model implementations.
  • Support assembly plant and vendor teams in the installation and testing of gauges, addressing production challenges through problem-solving initiatives.
  • Analyze and respond to plant deviation requests, determining appropriate actions.
  • Participate in pilot operations to validate gauge instruction accuracy and dimensional tolerances.
  • Guide toolmakers in the calibration of gauges and assess the time required for adjustments.
  • Recommend design changes based on production experiences and industry best practices to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare technical reports and manufacturing bulletins to communicate essential information to production teams.
  • Educate personnel on inspection techniques and ensure clarity in work instructions.

Qualifications:
  • An Associate's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline, accompanied by 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork and achieving objectives efficiently.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies is highly desirable.
