Alterations Customer Service Representative Job Description

At David's Bridal, we're seeking a skilled Alterations Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a critical role in the successful operation of the Alterations department, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and service customers with genuine enthusiasm, adapting your style to suit their needs and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star customer experience.
  • Meet all service vows, including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for all customers, and complete operational checklist tasks.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at once, addressing concerns with confidence and escalating when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate how alterations can perfect the dress for our customers' events in partnership with Alterations.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store standards, including cleanliness, organization, and promotional readiness, to support a flawless shopping experience.
  • Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
  • Follow quality control guidelines and inspect garments to verify pristine condition before delivery to customers.
  • Build long-term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and first-quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions with accuracy to make every customer feel celebrated.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager to address customer issues.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized alterations room.
Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to bend, twist, and stand; move throughout the store; and talk to and hear customers.
Education & Credentials:
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system.
