About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ab Initio Developer to join our dynamic team at Iris Software Inc. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Ab Initio and hands-on experience in developing complex data integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Ab Initio Graphs: Design, develop, and maintain Ab Initio Graphs to handle data integration and ETL processes.
  • Create and Optimize Graphs: Create, optimize, and deploy graphs for reading and writing messages to Kafka/JMS queues.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects: Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Install and Configure Ab Initio Environments: Install, configure, and upgrade Ab Initio environments, including Ab Initio Engine, Express>It, and Query>It.
  • Ensure Optimal Performance: Ensure optimal performance and scalability of Ab Initio applications.
  • Manage and Monitor Ab Initio Environments: Manage and monitor Ab Initio environments and troubleshoot any performance or environment issues.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support to end users and resolve any issues related to Ab Initio applications.
  • Identify and Debug Problems: Identify and debug problems in existing graphs and data pipelines.
  • Work with Operations Team: Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth production runs and address any data-related issues promptly.
  • Create Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation for Ab Initio processes, including data flows, mappings, and transformations.
  • Ensure Data Governance: Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Implement Best Practices: Implement best practices for ETL processes, code optimization, and data management.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to deliver data solutions.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide regular updates on project progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Ab Initio Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio development.
  • Ab Initio Graph Development: Strong knowledge of Ab Initio Graph development for Kafka and JMS queues.
  • Ab Initio Environment Setup: Proven experience in setting up, configuring, and upgrading Ab Initio environments, including Express>It and Query>It.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with end users and technical teams.
  • Data Warehousing Concepts: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and best practices.
  • ETL Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with other ETL tools and data integration technologies is a plus.
  • Scripting Languages: Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ab Initio Certification: Certification in Ab Initio or related technologies.
  • Agile/Scrum Experience: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Data Governance and Security: Knowledge of data governance and security principles.
