Job Summary

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a highly skilled Instructional Aide to join our team at the Ohio School for the Blind. As an Instructional Aide, you will play a critical role in supporting the educational needs of students who are blind or have low vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans for students
  • Provide instructional support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and workshops
  • Help students develop skills in areas such as braille, assistive technology, and independent living
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
