Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. in Charlotte, NC. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facility equipment, ensuring the safety and health of all personnel, and coordinating projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and oversee emergency repair activities, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and personnel availability
  • Provide technical guidance and support to subordinates, focusing on mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and safety procedures
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections, monitoring condition and maintenance adherence to AES standards
  • Coordinate facility projects, including window washing, garage cleaning, and roof repair, as requested by clients
  • Ensure compliance with building life safety systems, including controls panels, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, and fire doors
  • Implement and maintain a quality assurance program for all department work
  • Enforce general safety and fire prevention regulations, promoting safe working habits throughout the facility
  • Lead safety training initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety indoctrination and continuing education
  • Manage site operations and permits, including work permits, hot work permits, and roof permits
  • Recommend equipment replacements and assist in formulating long-range equipment replacement requirements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and safety procedures
  • Experience with building life safety systems, including controls panels, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, and fire doors
  • Ability to schedule and oversee emergency repair activities, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and personnel availability
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and support to subordinates
  • Ability to conduct regular equipment inspections, monitoring condition and maintenance adherence to AES standards
