The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer Lead to join our team at USAA. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex software systems and applications using ServiceNow HR Service Delivery.
  • Lead code/design reviews and communicate updates and impacts to stakeholders.
  • Organize work and lead multiple teams to deliver features and solutions.
  • Evolve the HR Portfolio and roadmap in partnership with HR Business Process Owners, Architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Independently resolve complex production issues and lead troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior/experienced engineers.
  • Work with architecture to define directions for cross-functional or highly complex key technologies.
  • Stay current on the latest ServiceNow Application Development and HR Service Delivery features and functionalities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement.
  • 8 years of software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within a specific discipline(s)/technology(s).
  • 2 years demonstrated leadership driving enterprise technology projects or initiatives.
  • 6 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.
  • Highly proficient in software engineering languages and tools.
  • Knowledge and advanced experience of leading code/design reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to address complex production issues by troubleshooting applications and systems.
  • Ability to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions.
  • Deep Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cloud technologies and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (Case and Content, Portal, Knowledge) experience with at least 1 full implementation.
  • 5 years of in-depth experience in ServiceNow configuration, customization, workflows, integrations, web-based development languages, and SQL/relational databases.
  • ServiceNow CAD certified including deltas.
  • 10 years of proven expertise in HRIS/HRIT with a strong understanding of HR processes, integrations, analytics, and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Human Resources (CIS-HR) certification.
