Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Epidemiology to join our esteemed faculty at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA).

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research, teaching, and training in epidemiology, with a focus on methodology and its applications in public health. The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in epidemiology and public health.

The UCLA Department of Epidemiology is a leader in epidemiologic theory and methods, applied epidemiology, and public health. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a collaborative and inclusive environment that fosters innovation, creativity, and excellence in research, teaching, and service.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to departmental and university service. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with diverse populations and have a strong commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in their research and teaching.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain an active research program in epidemiology, with a focus on methodology and its applications in public health.

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in epidemiology and related fields.

Contribute to departmental and university service, including committee work and mentoring of students and junior faculty.

Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to advance knowledge and practice in epidemiology and public health.

Requirements

Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.

Strong track record of research, teaching, and training in epidemiology, with a focus on methodology and its applications in public health.

Demonstrated commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in epidemiology and public health.

Experience working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in research and teaching.
