About the Cancer Prevention and Control Program

Cedars-Sinai Cancer is seeking a highly qualified researcher to join our Cancer Prevention and Control Program as a faculty member. Our program is dedicated to reducing the cancer burden in our catchment area by engaging communities and increasing cancer prevention, screening, and clinical trial accruals.

We are looking for a collaborative individual with an active research program in cancer prevention and control. This can include interventional research, epidemiology, screening and early detection, survivorship, behavioral/implementation sciences, and health delivery sciences. Individuals with research activities related to cancer screening, risk factors (HPV, tobacco, alcohol, and obesity) and cancers of the colorectum, prostate, liver, lung, pancreas, skin (melanoma), and breast are encouraged to apply.

Our program fosters a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment with access to exceptional core facilities, unique cohorts, training grants, and clinical scholars' programs. Members may also align with research focus areas in the Center for Integrated Research on Lifestyle and Center and the Cancer Research Center for Health Equity.

Along with caring for patients, Cedars-Sinai is a hub for biomedical research and a top 10 academic medical center for NIH funding with over $230M in extramural research grant funding. We are actively engaged in translational research to bring medical advancements directly from the laboratory to the bedside.

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills, relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure, and other business and organizational factors.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to have a strong track record of scholarship, evidenced by independent cancer research funding and peer-reviewed publications. Academic rank, and the potential for a leadership role, is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, health policy, health services research, behavioral sciences, or an MD with an accompanying public health graduate degree from an accredited school
  • Demonstrated excellence in cancer research of high scientific impact and translation
  • A track record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Active cancer relevant peer-reviewed funding
