Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. As an Epidemiologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Division of HIV & STD-Syphilis Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with administrative efforts and plan, design, implement, evaluate, and manage health-related surveillance systems, epidemiologic studies, and field investigations.
  • Conduct focused analyses on syphilis in people who could get pregnant and pregnant persons and refine data collection to inform programmatic work on this grant.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve public health outcomes and reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and community leaders to design and implement effective public health interventions.
  • Prepare and present data-driven reports and recommendations to stakeholders, including program managers, policymakers, and community leaders.
Requirements:
  • A master's degree in epidemiology or a related field, or a doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field with relevant work experience.
  • At least three years of experience in epidemiology, including experience in designing, conducting, and evaluating epidemiologic studies and field investigations.
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License or ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with modeling techniques to predict trends or assess the impact of public health efforts in chronic and infectious disease prevention and control.
  • Experience working with epidemiologic research methodology, including epidemiologic measures, study design, and stratified analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with advanced statistics, including Poisson, generalized linear, logistic, negative binomial, hierarchical, and Bayesian regression.
  • Proficiency with Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) programming language, including merging, concatenating, and transposing large datasets, and using macros, arrays, and SQL.
  • Experience working with large public datasets, including the US Census, NHANES, and NHIS.
  • Experience working with Institutional Review Boards (IRB), California Public Records Act, and Freedom of Information Act.
  • Experience preparing peer-reviewed manuscripts, health briefs, or health impact assessments.
  • Experience leading public health program evaluations and investigations, including outbreaks, clusters, and contact investigations, and conducting outreach initiatives among high-risk populations.
