Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Epidemiology Infection Preventionist I to join our team. As a key member of our infection prevention and control program, you will play a critical role in identifying, investigating, and reporting healthcare-associated infections.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct surveillance and investigation of healthcare-associated infections using epidemiologic principles and CDC guidelines.
- Report communicable diseases and laboratory data to local, state, and national health departments as required.
- Monitor data and report significant findings to department leadership, identifying gaps in processes or trends that require intervention.
- Participate in epidemiological investigations of significant clusters of infections and unusual isolates.
- Implement and monitor the Infection Prevention and Control program throughout the medical center.
- Conduct unit rounds to evaluate the environment of care, ensure isolation precautions are adhered to, and perform direct observations of infection prevention measures and compliance.
- Assess the educational needs of hospital and clinical staff and deliver basic educational offerings.
- Participate in department IPC quality improvement projects, focused studies, research, and test of change initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.
- 3 years of clinical experience in nursing, public health, epidemiology, or other healthcare-related field.
- Standing, walking, sitting, lifting 50 lbs, carrying 50 lbs, pushing 75 lbs, pulling 75 lbs, balancing, stooping, eye/hand/foot coordination, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
