Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada. As a key member of our Facilities Operations/Maintenance department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibrate and repair instruments and associated equipment
  • Work with electronic control systems, including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements for automated processes
  • Support controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing new systems
  • Measure levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes; test instrumentation and control systems; and maintain test equipment
  • Consult manuals, read and interpret circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
  • Repair and adjust system components, remove and replace defective parts
  • Install control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment; work on projects throughout the facility, connecting devices, and using lifts and ladders
  • Perform equipment repairs and similar duties independently, utilizing complex electrical schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting and correction
Requirements
  • Knowledge of using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in motor controls, drives, and electronic components
  • Interpretation of electrical prints and schematics
  • Capability to work at high elevations up to 80 ft
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to work independently or collaboratively with all levels of management
  • Good understanding of VFDs and PLCs
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
