Maintenance Technician

Situated on a picturesque 15-acre peninsula, Loews Coronado Bay Resort serves as a serene retreat near San Diego, offering breathtaking views of the bay and the skyline. Experience the tranquility of Coronado's exclusive waterfront haven.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts tasks requiring specialized skills in trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, kitchen/laundry, carpentry, painting/wall coverings, and locksmithing, alongside general maintenance duties.
  • Oversees maintenance activities within the primary area of expertise.
  • Provides guidance and training to junior engineering staff.
  • Responds to maintenance requests and complaints throughout the resort as directed by supervisors.
  • Handles hazardous materials and chemicals safely during the execution of duties.
  • Utilizes tools, equipment, and materials in accordance with safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
  • Reviews daily work assignments from the Maintenance Requests list at the start and throughout each shift.
  • Communicates job status and maintenance requests to supervisors effectively.
  • Informs supervisors upon completion of assigned tasks.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed.
  • Performs minor repairs on equipment brought to the workshop.
  • May assist in dispatching duties as necessary.
  • May help with minor setup tasks for events throughout the resort.
  • Familiarizes with hotel emergency procedures and responds promptly and accurately during emergencies.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Supportive Functions and Responsibilities

  • Encourages teamwork and collaboration at all times.
  • Promptly informs relevant individuals of any significant issues or unusual occurrences.
  • Maintains a polite, friendly, and helpful demeanor towards guests, management, and colleagues.
  • Participates in all relevant hotel meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensures cleanliness and optimal condition of equipment and workspaces.
  • Implements emergency procedures in line with hotel standards.
  • Adheres to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Complies with hotel and departmental policies and standards.
  • Practices recycling whenever feasible.
  • Stays updated with hotel information and changes.
  • Follows hotel uniform and grooming standards.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary training in engineering or maintenance-related fields.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, preferably in hospitality.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and a guest-oriented mindset.

The compensation for this role is $28.55.
