A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Experience:Six months of full-time field experience as an Emergency Medical Technician is highly desirable, but not required.Education/Training: Must be at least 18 years of age and have an education equivalent to completion of high school.Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License with a safe driving record. Ambulance driver's endorsement NOT required.Possession of a valid certification as an EMT with the State of California is required at time of application and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.Possession of a valid EMT accreditation with the County of San Diego EMS Office is required at time of appointment and must be maintained as a condition of employment.Possession of a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.Candidate Selection Process: Application Review:A completed City of Coronado employment application and resume must be received by the Human Resources Division.
