Role Overview
As an Echocardiography Specialist II, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Equipment Decontamination: Ensure all echocardiography equipment is cleaned and maintained according to strict infection control standards.
  • Emergency Response: Act promptly to emergency calls as per departmental protocols.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of echocardiography equipment, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Performance Improvement: Engage in continuous performance enhancement initiatives, evaluating both your work and that of your colleagues.
  • Patient Care: Conduct transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, ensuring all necessary views are captured for accurate diagnostics.
  • Patient Records: Prepare preliminary reports and ensure all data is accurately recorded in the designated systems.
  • Patient Safety: Uphold patient safety by conducting thorough inspections of equipment and ensuring proper patient positioning.
  • Data Entry: Accurately document all required measurements in compliance with established protocols.
  • Stress Echocardiograms: Efficiently obtain necessary views during stress echocardiograms, adhering to time-sensitive protocols.

Qualifications
Preferred: Associate's Degree
Required: High School Diploma/GED
Required: Completion of a CAAHEP accredited echocardiography program with a minimum of 800 clinical hours
Preferred: 1 year of experience as an echocardiography sonographer
Required: Certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMEDSON), Registry for Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Preferred: Experience in pediatrics
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected for this position.
