Job Summary

The Critical Power Field Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of projects on behalf of the customer throughout the project life cycle and is the principal point of contact for the customer with respect to the project.

The PM is charged with supporting the sales, operations, and service teams during the entire project to ensure a seamless transition from quotation through commissioning and acceptance by the customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Plans, establishes, maintains, and regularly updates the project schedule for assigned projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with other Project Managers and Application Engineers to ensure clear understanding and completeness of project scope and project constraints.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Manages communication, and distributes documentation between Concentric and its customers.
  • Pre-Bid and Bid-Opening Meetings: Attends pre-bid and bid-opening meetings as required.
  • Site Walks and Qualifications: Perform site walks for sales quoting and pre/post job qualifications.
  • Change Order Management: Review customer specifications, drawings, and bid documents and provides change orders when necessary.
  • Contingency Planning: Contingency planning expertise and knowledge.
  • Customer Service Support: Supports the customer service team during order setup, material purchasing, invoicing and project closure.
  • Project Safety Planning: Prepare, distribute, and follow through with project safety plan including company, customer, and regulatory agency standards.
  • Project Action Item Management: Create, prioritize, and maintain project action item list.
  • As-Built Documentation: Maintain accurate as-built documentation and punch-lists.
  • Cost Control: Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin.
  • Financial Reporting: Manage gross profit and other key performance metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Supplier Management: Work with suppliers on maximizing material and service margins.
  • Market Feedback: Provide market feedback to the Critical Power management team to position Concentric as an industry leader.
  • Business Expense Management: Effectively manage business expenses to stay within company guidelines.
  • Joint Sales Calls and Coaching: Work with sales team members for joint sales calls and coaching opportunities.
  • Industry Research: Be a student of the industry – work with OEM's and vendors on new technology to provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • On-Site Supervision: Provide on-site supervision of installation / project activities.
Key Performance Measurements
  • Project Revenue and Expense: Project revenue, expense, and gross profit vs budget.
  • Schedule Attainment: Schedule attainment vs forecast/plan.
  • BOM and SOW Accuracy: BOM and SOW Accuracy.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Customer satisfaction.
  • Other Key Performance Indicators: Other key performance indicators as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution OR minimum 10 years of field service, project management and/or proposal generation experience with critical power distribution systems and high school diploma.
  • Project Management Experience: Minimum 5 years project management in power and/or mechanical applications. PMP preferred.
  • Financial Success: Demonstrated financial success as a project manager.
  • Electrical Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of electrical industry related application engineering.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of IEEE, NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA.
  • Software Skills: May require working knowledge of Procore and/or project management software.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Professional and motivational communication skills. Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Organizational and Leadership Skills: Ability to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision. Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices.
  • Articulation and Listening Skills: Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.
  • Collaboration and Adaptability: Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization. Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • ERP Process Flow: Experience with ERP process flow.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Background Check and TWIC Card: Must be able to pass a background check and obtain an TWIC card.
  • Travel Commitment: Ability to sustain a significant travel commitment.
