POSITION SUMMARY

Accountable for overseeing the Beverage department's services and operations, including budget management and staffing responsibilities. Engages in Team Member development, aids in setting departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives while ensuring the implementation of internal control measures essential for operational efficiency.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The following responsibilities are general representations of the role and are not exhaustive for specific positions.
  • Lead, inspire, and support the staff to foster open communication regarding their suggestions, challenges, and requirements.
  • Develop Team Member schedules to guarantee appropriate staffing levels for service and labor management.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, supervise, and assess assigned personnel; establish work performance standards; facilitate staff training, collaborate with Team Members to address deficiencies; execute corrective actions and termination processes.
  • Assess the performance of the Beverage department by monitoring guest satisfaction and nurturing guest relations.
  • Investigate and resolve guest complaints and issues.
  • Perform inspections of all Beverage areas to ensure adherence to procedures, security of company assets, and safety for guests and Team Members.
  • Design and create innovative cocktails, lists, and menus.
  • Manage the inventory process and effectively control alcohol/pour costs.
  • Actively enhance guest satisfaction and encourage repeat business by maintaining communication with Food and Beverage staff, management, serving staff, and guests to ensure details are addressed appropriately and guest concerns are resolved promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Maintain a polished, tidy, and professional appearance.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must possess the ability to:
  • Function in an environment subject to varying levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on customer volume.
  • Observe and guide the actions of subordinates.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of Team Members and guests.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in the Beverage industry and strong public relations skills are essential. Knowledge and experience in bar operations within a multi-venue or casino setting are required. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a related college degree, alongside eight years of restaurant/bar experience in a multi-venue or casino environment, with a minimum of three years in a managerial role.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties outlined, every team member holds the following responsibilities regarding compliance with laws and regulations:
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions provided by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
  • Perform duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that minors are not permitted to gamble or linger in gambling areas, consume alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Be knowledgeable of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relevant to the department.
  • Refer to Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activities to Security or the appropriate management levels.
