The Clinical Psychologist Faculty position is open within a prominent health initiative dedicated to supporting individuals affected by significant traumatic events. We are in search of a proficient clinical psychologist to contribute to our multidisciplinary team focused on addressing the mental health needs of those with ongoing psychological challenges stemming from their past experiences. The persistent occurrence of mental health disorders among this population highlights the urgent necessity for comprehensive healthcare solutions.

Our collaborative team, consisting of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, is devoted to providing care for individuals who were involved in critical response efforts during major crises. We utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. Key responsibilities include conducting individual and group therapy sessions, performing psychological evaluations, overseeing psychology trainees, and engaging in educational activities, case discussions, and program enhancement projects. This role is entirely outpatient with no evening or weekend commitments.

The institution is recognized globally for its outstanding contributions to research, patient care, and education. The position includes an academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, with opportunities for involvement in clinical research and teaching at the medical school level.

The selected candidate will be engaged in the program for 40 hours per week or 1.0 FTE.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting intake assessments and providing individual and group psychotherapy. Administering psychological tests and comprehensive psychological evaluations. Collaborating with other professionals within the mental health team for optimal patient care. Participating in clinical outcome assessments and program development initiatives as directed. Offering clinical supervision. Managing administrative tasks related to patient care and program development. Attending clinical supervision, team meetings, and staff conferences.

Specific Duties:

Conducting psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for new program participants. Delivering individual and group therapy utilizing various therapeutic modalities. Performing specialized psychological assessments for diagnostic clarity and treatment recommendations. Collaborating with team members to discuss treatment progress and coordinate care. Documenting treatment notes and engaging in care coordination discussions. Providing clinical supervision and training on evidence-based practices. Overseeing psychology trainees and early-career social workers in assessment and therapy. Engaging in clinical outcome projects and program initiatives as requested. Completing administrative duties such as documentation and communication with staff. Participating in program-wide meetings. Attending supervision for clinical responsibilities.

These responsibilities may be adjusted as necessary based on institutional requirements.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited clinical, counseling, or combined clinical & school psychology program. Licensure in New York State.

Compensation ranges from 120K to 145K (excluding bonuses or benefits).

Salary Information:
