Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee all aspects of surface mount operations, evaluating manufacturing processes, personnel, and equipment to continually improve processes and eliminate defects. This role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on managing SMT employees, including hiring, performance evaluations, and discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for improving Surface Mount Technology (SMT) related processes, including product quality, process capability, and product reliability.
  • Provides hands-on manufacturing engineering support and leads cross-functional process improvement teams to support production and resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Trains and certifies assembly operators and inspectors on manufacturing processes.
  • Manage all SMT Employees including hiring, performance evaluations, and discipline.
  • Provide pre and post manufacturing reviews and finalize process issues as required.
  • Responsible for reducing SMT line setup times, reducing SMT line takt times, increasing SMT line productivity (performance to takt time), and improving first pass yield.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and monitor work on SMT Lines to ensure on-time delivery to secondary operations.
  • Review design documentation, materials, and designs for manufacturability (DFM process).
  • Participate in the selection of new equipment and evaluation of software to increase capabilities and capacity.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a electronic/electrical manufacturing environment as a Supervisor.
  • Must have experience with PCBAs or Circuit Boards.
  • SMT Supervisory experience.
