Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures on pediatric patients, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate general radiologic and CT Scan imaging equipment to perform diagnostic procedures on pediatric patients.
  • Apply prescribed ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic-quality images under the supervision of a physician.
  • Maintain patient care and imaging skills related to neonatal and pediatric patients.
  • Access and verify imaging orders and requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
  • Collaborate with other department members and healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate performance of requested exams.
  • Provide support to other sub-sections of the department as needed.
  • Teach and mentor new technologists, student technologists, and Radiology Residents on radiologic technology skills.
  • Ensure accurate data transfer between department and hospital systems, completion, and scanning of medical records.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiologic Technology program.
  • Board eligibility required and must follow ARRT standards of board eligibility and subsequent licensing by the State of Connecticut.
  • Computed Tomography board certification within one year of employment.
  • Previous pediatric experience preferred.
  • Certified as a Registered Technologist R.T., [ARRT].
  • Current State of Connecticut Radiographer License required.
  • Computer Tomography board certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
