NSC Technologies is actively seeking a Welding Quality Assurance Supervisor.
The Welding Quality Assurance Supervisor should possess extensive knowledge in the assembly and erection of steel and aluminum hull vessels and hold certification as a welding instructor (CWI).
- Familiarity with the installation of all necessary outfitting components is essential.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend shipyard construction and work package assembly drawings is required.
- Knowledge of techniques for proper alignment of sub-assembly components is necessary.
- Basic understanding of acceptable welding practices and preparation is expected, along with coordination with various shifts and departments.
- Adherence to all safety protocols and compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations is mandatory.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, including reliability, punctuality, and commitment to timely task completion.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in computer usage are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain work schedules effectively.
- Enforce all company policies consistently.
- Train and mentor subordinate staff.
- Ensure appropriate manpower levels to support project schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Department on quality-related issues and inspections.
- Coordinate with the Fabrication shop regarding units and parts transitioning into assembly.
- Review production schedules in detail and liaise with Planning and Scheduling to meet delivery timelines.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Facilities on relevant matters.
- Monitor attendance and implement progressive discipline for attendance or performance issues.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills to complete assignments within designated timeframes.
- Effectively communicate with various levels of management, craft personnel, and different departments.
Work Demands:
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn, including respirators, hard hats, face shields, safety goggles, steel-toed safety shoes, safety harnesses, gloves, or other protective clothing as dictated by Job Hazard Analysis.
- All accidents or injuries must be reported to the supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
- Any damages to equipment or misuse of tools must be reported to the Assembly Shop Manager.
- Work pace must align with company deadlines.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the assembly and erection of various sub-assemblies, outfitting, and pre-erection stages is required.
- Responsible for enforcing safety guidelines and ensuring proper use of PPE.
Required Skills: CWI process development, product quality assurance, production part approval process.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
