Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Capacity Planner to join our team at Synopsys. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for planning and executing infrastructure capacity plans to ensure the efficient use of resources and meet the growing demands of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capacity Planning: Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure the optimal use of infrastructure resources.
- Demand Planning: Execute demand planning processes to develop infrastructure capacity plans that align with business objectives.
- Business and Technical Analysis: Develop and analyze various business and technical scenarios to drive executive decision-making around infrastructure resources.
- Automation and Optimization: Build automated, scalable, and rigorous solutions to infrastructure problems using state-of-the-art automation, mathematical optimization, and/or AI models.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels.
- Issue Identification and Resolution: Identify capacity-related issues proactively and work across technical and business teams to define and implement solutions.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to invent and simplify processes, identifying business risks and implementing resolutions and scalable mechanisms.
- Resource Utilization: Ensure efficient resource utilization and continuously improve processes leveraging automation and internal tools resulting in enhanced service delivery, maturity, and scalability.
- Infrastructure Upgrades and Migrations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects.
- Research and Development: Conduct research to identify new technologies and solutions.
- Documentation and Standard Operating Procedures: Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
- Infrastructure Technologies: Extensive experience with a wide range of infrastructure technologies, such as Linux, Windows, High-performance computing, storage platforms, networking, cloud computing, cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc.), virtualization, OpenStack, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Infrastructure Project Planning and Execution: Experience with infrastructure project planning and execution.
- Statistical Concepts and Analysis: Strong command and understanding of statistical concepts/models/analysis and how they relate to product reliability & life cycle analysis.
- Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis: Experience developing quantitative and qualitative analysis and metrics to solve business problems.
- Service Level Indicators and Objectives: Experience with developing service level indicators and objectives, instrumenting software, and building alerts.
- Programming Languages: Hands-on experience with one or more of Java/Python/Go/AngularJS/NodeJS languages.
- Infra-Automation Tools and Frameworks: Implementation experience in infra-automation tools and frameworks like GitHub, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Terraform (IaC), Ansible, Shell scripting.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Passion for tracking down technical root causes of distributed systems, and software.
- Service Availability-Oriented Mindset: Service availability-oriented mindset with a pro-active approach to problem solving.
- Time Management and Prioritization: Strong time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
- Communication and Collaboration: Good verbal and writing skills as well as the ability to communicate at a high level.
- Self-Motivation and Independence: Self-motivating, independent, and committed to getting things done.
- Process Improvement and Optimization: Possesses the ability and willingness to challenge the status-quo and optimize current processes and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Masters/Bachelor's Degree: Masters/Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5+ years of experience.
- Performance Analysis and Infrastructure Capacity Planning: 4+ years of experience with performance analysis, infrastructure capacity planning in large organizations.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $98,000-$146,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a competitive total rewards package.
